The Ermenegildo Zegna Fall 2014 Menswear Collection

Mid-August reminds us to prepare for the end of summer. With Independence Day far behind us, it’s time to prepare for the change of season. As a blogger that has the opportunity to live primarily in a consistently warm (and rather enjoyable) climate, I hardly get the chance to experience all four seasons. One of the things I miss about living in the mid-west is the Fall Season and the ability to layer. As we prepare for the change of seasons, Styled by Mark plans to share an array of looks from the best collections the season has to offer.

Any well-dressed gentleman that appreciates quality fabrics, cut, pattern and texture is well-acquainted with Ermenegildo Zegna. Zegna is synonymous with the richest fabrics produced at the best textile mills in Italy. They have enjoyed a deserved reputation of producing some of the most renowned men’s suits. I recall a brief stint with a custom shirt designer that schooled me on the intricate process of bespoke tailoring. This remarkably gifted atelier never missed an occasional plug for Zegna.

If your haven’t guessed by now, today’s blog features highlights from the Fall 2014 Ermenegildo Zegna-Menswear Collection. Designer Stefano Pilati takes the beholder (wearer) on a journey of contradictions. The collection is a balance between well-tailored pieces versus an odd pairing. Formal suits are paired with short jackets with the latter as an overcoat layer; and full-length dress coats are paired with sporty-casual shoe/boots. Belted and pull-over sweaters are matched with amazing suits. Skull-caps accent these amazing otherwise formal dress coats. While that juxtaposition might frighten some, Zegna enthusiasts can relax and enjoy this well-appointed collection. Check out my favorites below and feel free to share your thoughts.  If you’re interested in purchasing anything from the collection, visit Zegna.com.
